Only the Wounds &
Weapons Have Changed
March 17 - April 1
This original Black History play features
many lesser-known people who have
played key roles in the struggle to
completely liberate people who were
captured and shipped from Africa to
America to be sold as slaves.
Fairview
February 10 - 18
In Fairview, we meet the Frasier family in the midst of a
chaotic evening preparing for the family matriarch’s
birthday dinner. Beverly, the hostess, is juggling all of the
personalities as she tries to make the evening picture
perfect. In the midst of the preparations, Beverly tries to
jump over a hopeless number of obstacles. Her sister
Jasmine critiques the event, her husband Dayton
underwhelms, and her brother Tyrone is nowhere to be
found. As family expectations begin to get the best of her,
her adolescent daughter’s behavior adds gas to the fire
and prompts an unexpected journey of self-reflection.
2023 PAST PERFORMANCES
Rock of Ages in Concert
April 13 - 16
It’s the tail end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has
been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace, and liquor flow freely at one
of the Sunset Strips last legendary venues, a place where sex
machine Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and scantily clad groupies line
up to turn their fantasies into reality. Amidst the madness, aspiring
rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as
the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the
bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock 'n' roll fairy tale
is about to end when German developers sweep into town with
plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall.
Can Drew, Sherri and the gang save the strip – and themselves –
before it's too late?

The Amen Corner, Baldwin's first work for the stage
written in 1954, chronicles the story of a Black female
pastor in Harlem, Margaret, who must grapple with the
social, cultural and gender limitations of pastoring a
store front church when she is suddenly confronted by
the secular life that she left behind. When her long-lost

only son, returns to address unreconciled questions of
their past love, and the impact of his absence on their
estranged son, David.
